Directivity measurements on it (when done correctly ...) proven a very good behaviour in Horizontal Response, often unmatched even with more recent designs.
The special vertical directivity is best exploited with inwall mounting where the speaker is placed high and oriented slightly leaning towards the mixing console (BTW the xover will have to be temporally adjusted from the listener's placement). (wrt what you wrote)

I also commented that the TH4003 is imo a not good performing device wrt to high end sound quality. neither the acoustic loading nor the directively control properties are acceptable wrt to modern high end requirements.
