Hi Henry,
the most adequate solution IMHO is to drive this vintage turntable with the mains frequency because this is the original concept. You just need a simple transformer and find someone to make a new stepped pulley on the motor spindle for the belt drive.
I have seen an example of such a modified drive for german mains.

la solution la plus appropriée est de conduire cette vieux platine avec la fréquence du réseau. C'est le concept original. Vous avez juste besoin d'un simple transformateur et de trouver un mécanicien pour faire une nouvelle poulie de la courroie.
J'ai vu un exemple de modification d'un tel platine EMPIRE pour secteur allemand.
