"DC amplifier series No.251
First stage Korg 6P1, IVC type equalizer, SiC MOS-FET headphone amplifier installed, NiH battery power supply
Current transmission Nutube
Hybrid Preamp [Part 1] Akihiko Kaneda
It is a hybrid amplifier using Korg's triode 6P1.
Utilizing the characteristics of low power consumption, battery drive was adopted.
In the circuit configuration, the equalizer is the current mirror of the current mirror of 2SA995 at the 6P1 in the first stage, the current stage of the next stage is the current mirror of the 2SC 2291, and the equalizer element is driven by the push pull with the constant current load.
The last stage is the source follower of 2SK117BL.
The difference between this equalizer and the previous one is that the grid of the first stage pipe is grounded with a low resistance of 680 Ω. It seems to be a value determined by the balance with the variable range of SAOC.
Line amplifier & headphone amplifier are connected to the next stage of the equalizer. As a basic configuration, it is an inverting type IV conversion type variable gain amplifier. In the first stage, the direct current bias is applied to the cathode side of 6P1 at 1 s 1588 x 2, its output is received by the current mirror of 2 SA 995, converted to IV by resistance, and then connected to the 2 SJ 103 BL differential amplifier with the constant current of 2 SA 970 as the common source . The output of the differential amplifier is voltage converted at 3 kΩ and connected to the output stage of SiC MOS-FET SCT 2 H 12 NZ. Although it becomes a voltage output type as an amplifier, it is a current output with 1 kΩ. Take out the headphone output from the front of 1 kΩ.
Impressions
As a research on the circuit, there is a very interesting place, but when it is said whether there is necessity to use 6P1, it was not understood well to the extent that I read the first part. I am looking forward to the evaluation on the second part.
6P1 is a direct thermal type, device with low anode loss and difficult to use. It seems that the manufacturer's intention is also to use it as a device for making sounds, so this usage may be appropriate in that sense.
