Comme le montre et démontre ces différents sites , tous seul ou accompagné,cette haut parleur permet quelques bonnes expériences.

Yes I am very happy with this greencone speakers. I use this speakers at home. It is perfect for this listening situation.

Please let me tell you why I will not bring this particular speaker in the concours:

1. it needs a supertweeter (this is forbidden in the concours)
2. it ist not capable to play loud enough to address a bigger auditorium which likes Pop-Music.

That is why I decided to make another compromise for this special event and use a singlecone with more 'rockability'

You mentioned that the Saba greencones need super tweeters. Do you mean they are able to produce superbasses ?

In a fulllrange configuration, and without the low frequencies the overall equilibrium might be very unbalanced to the treebles when adding a super tweeter. Not to speak of the difficulty to find a tweeter which sound close enough to the fullrange cone. In this case, the old 400K rule of thumb seems still very relevant to me.

In my past experiences with fullrange speakers, I noticed that adding a tweeter for sure leads to more flattering sound but, finally, I always came back to the one speaker listening, more natural in my opinion.

A note about the listening volume : hopefully, we don't plan to listen at very high volume neither specialize on cone breaking test tracks

I agree with you that it is very hard to find good combinations of fullrange drivers and supertweeters.

But I think this is not the case regarding the Greencones.
This particular combination was developed by SABA as a perfect supplement. The membranes are made from the same green 'magic'-paper.



I did a lot of experimenting for years trying outstanding fullrange speakers and found only very few speakers which had a sufficient high-frequency response. Not to talk about other problems.

E.g. some Philips, Telefunken and for example the Loewe-Opta speakers shown here:

(The Loewe was from a friend. I often made A/B comparisons at home).



For the Mélaudia-Concours-speaker I am trying to find another compromise. As I have told before. (May be I am wrong with this approach )

Bonjour,un haut parleur full-range est par définition un compromis entre les basses et haut fréquences.
D'après la courbe de mesure publier sur un des sites nommés en référence,le modèle que j'utilise,a une chute régulier dans les hautes fréquences a partir de 3000hz.

Hello, speakers full-range is by definition a compromise between the low and high frequencies.
According to the curve measuring publish on one of the sites named in reference, the model I use, a steady fall in the high frequencies from 3000hz.

Bonjour,
Quelques explications sur mon choix pour cette haut parleur.
Lors du lancement de ce concours , ma seul expérience avec les hauts parleurs large bande était dans le milieu des années 90 ,le FOSTEX FE103 Sigma monté dans une charge "¨+Maison de l'Audiophile¨+", mes souvenirs d'écoute de cette haut parleur sont excellent , il était alimenté par un 8 Watt LE MONTRE,je les ai prêté a un ami qui ne me les a pas rendu !!!
Au vu du premier règlement de ce concours , j'ai chercher un haut parleur simple a trouver sur eBay et documenter sur internet (voir les différent liens) , l'autre idée était de fabriquer une charge simple a reproduire en ne nécessitant pas de menuiserie dans le salon.
Cette haut parleur a un diamètre de 20 cm , donc il rentre parfaitement dans un tube PVC d'un diamètre de 20 cm, de plus ces 4 pattes de fixation déborde du saladier , il est donc possible de le bridé correctement autour d'un tube.
Le tube PVC est un matériau assez facile a travailler , il faut juste de coupé bien d'équerre , pour que les embouts et surface de contact soit correct , de plus il existe toute une gamme d'accessoire dans le même diamètre .
L'autre avantage de ce montage sur une culotte ou TE en PVC est un débaflage complet du haut parleur et une mis a hauteur correcte pour une écoute assise.
Le volume actuelle est de 38 litres en bass-reflex avec un évent en partie basse d'un diamètre de 13 cm par une hauteur de 2 cm (trappe de visite sans sont bouchon) , cela traduit d'après mes calculs a une fréquence de résonance de plus ou moins 90 hz .
Après les premiers écoute l'intérieur a été entièrement revêtue de molleton collée sur plastique, pour supprimer le bruit d'écoulement de l'air.
Je réfléchis a des améliorations et optimisations , les premiers résultat d'écoute étant encourageant .

Some explanations about my choice for the speaker.
At the launch of this contest, my only experience with loudspeakers full range was in the mid-90, Sigma FOSTEX FE103 mounted a charge in "Maison de l'Audiophile" , I remember listening to this speaker is excellent, it was powered by an 8 Watt LE MONSTRE, I lent a friend who does me has not delivered!
In view of the first rules of this competition, I look for a single speaker to find on eBay and document on the internet (see the different links), another idea was to build a single charge has reproduce in not requiring carpentry in the living room.
This speaker has a diameter of 20 cm, so it falls perfectly in a PVC pipe with a diameter of 20 cm, over these 4 mounting lugs beyond the bowl, it is possible to correctly clamped around a tube .
The PVC tube material is a fairly easy work, it is fair to shut down for squareness, so that the tips and contact surface is correct, there is more of a range of accessory in the same diameter.
Another advantage of this on a TE PVC is a complete opening the speakerphone and put a proper height for a seated listening.
The current volume is 38 litres in bass reflex with a vent at the bottom with a diameter of 13 cm with a height of 2 cm (door visits are without cap), this translated according to my calculations has a frequency of resonance of plus or minus 90 hz.
After the first listen inside was completely covered with fleece pasted on plastic, to suppress the noise of airflow.
I was thoughtful improvements and optimizations, the first result of listening is encouraging.
