Kits Kaneda
RE: Kits Kaneda

Bonne lecture,

Sébastien

DC amplifier series No.224
All FET power IVC, SiC SBD rectified power supply integrated type
Equipped with D / A converter
SiC MOS-FET Power IVC [Part 1] Akihiko Kaneda

It is the appearance of the power IVC of AC power version. All FET configuration, built-in DAC, and small size. It will be the best amplifier to make the system simple.

Unlike the conventional configuration, the first stage constant current circuit of the power IVC has a form that fixes the gate of the Nch FET with a Zener diode. If it is a self-bias type of the conventional FET, there was a disadvantage that overcurrent flows at the time of cold start, but there is no fear in this form.
In the initial stage differential stage, cascade connection of 2SK 117 to 2SK 117 differential. The second stage is not a differential form but the current amplifier of 2SJ77. The final stage is Darlington (?) Composition of 2SK 214 and SCT 2080KE.
The biggest difference from amps already announced is that gain IVC has no gain adjustment. Will not this lead to stability of the NFB?

Supply voltage of voltage amplification stage is + 100V, -8V. Power supply voltage of power amplification stage is + 50V / - 50V.
For the transformer, it is TS-180 which was often used in UHC power amplifier. Many people are on hand and it seems to be useful for reuse. The winding for the heater is assigned to the analog part and the digital part of the DAC.
Diode for rectification is SiC Schottky diode of ROHM.

Although it is not specified about the maximum output of this power IVC, it seems that it seems to be a considerable high power amp. If this listening result is good, the way to the AC power amplifier is opened. This AC power amplifier is a nice plan for me who is lazy.

DC amplifier series No.224
All FET power IVC, SiC SBD rectified power supply integrated type
D / A converter installed
SiC MOS-FET power IVC [second part]

It is the production version of SiC power IVC with AC power version DAC built in.
The maximum output was 120 W at 8 Ohm load and 182 W at 4 Ohm load. According to the article, since 196 W is outputted from the amplifier of "Completely Symmetric Audio DC Amplifier" on page 187, if the drive stage is improved, the maximum output power can be expected to increase.
In the audition notation, it is stated as follows.

"The contrast between ff and pp is also surprisingly sharp and the music is lively and active From the standpoint of the audience, real serious sounds that you listen to from the performer's point of view are moving.
... ... ...
The fulfillment feeling of the super low sound common to SiC power IVC has been further increased. So much
Many kinds of instruments support super bass. This sound far exceeds the limit of the speaker. "

Although it is not explicitly written that the power supply voltage rises with AC power supply and the dynamic range has been expanded explicitly, I think that most of the improvement in sound quality of this amplifier is due to AC power supply.

Personally, as loading the DAC near the transformer for the power amplifier does not calm down, I think that it probably will not make it as it is in this production article, but it is probably possible to cut out only the power IVC and make it I thought.
It is nice information for AC power DC amp (?) Fans who intend to decide on lunches like me. With this, I can see the plan to convert the current UHC MOS power amplifier to SiC.
First of all, I'm thinking about replacing the diode of the UHC MOS power amplifier on hand.

RE: Kits Kaneda

DC Amplifier Series No.225
All FET configuration, 8 Ω load 180 W x 2, 4 Ω load 306 W, SiC rectified power supply
SiC MOS-FET High Power IVC [Part 1] Akihiko Kaneda

It is a system that improves the driver stage as expected. In No. 224 the distortion rate of 10 kHz was worse than that of 1 kHz. The reason for this is that in the source follower configuration of the driver stage, the Rs is too small, the charging current of the last stage Ciss flows to the Rs side, and the teacher analyzes that it is not effectively used. In this machine, we aimed to maximize the effect by decreasing the adverse effect by making Rs larger than before and lowering the power supply voltage to connect Rs.

Although it was originally using 2SK 214 (like), but after submitting the first part of the manuscript, FET for the driver arrived from ROHM, and the driver also suddenly changed to SiC. The model number of the SiC MOS FET for the driver is SCT21201AF. The effect of SiC conversion on the driver stage is phenomenal, music information has increased, expressive power has further improved.

The power supply voltage of the voltage amplification stage was +100 v / - 8 v in the No. 224, but it was +100 v / -100 v in this unit.
The specified transformer is TS - 180C, the winding of the power amplification stage is 44 V 7.8 A x 2. In No. 224, 0.33 Ω was inserted in the series to protect the SiC diode, but this 0.33 Ω was inserted even in No. 225, but UHC MOS for short-circuiting this resistor was added after startup .

When you look at the photos with parts mounted on the case, they are very compact.
It seems to be difficult in space when electrolytic capacitors are set to KMH etc. not specified. It is good that there is a case where the thermal resistance is a little more, there is room in the depth and the height. Because I can open a hole of φ 8 for heat dissipation of the board, this neighborhood seems to be an obstacle to me.

It is introduced that the distortion factor can be improved by changing the constant of the protection circuit of No. 224. In addition, by setting the voltage of the voltage amplification stage to +100 v / -100 v, Rs can be made to have a high resistance to further improve it.

DC Amplifier Series No.225
All FET configuration, 8 Ω load 180 W x 2, 4 Ω load 306 W x 2, SiC SBD rectified power supply
SiC MOS-FET High Power IVC [Part 2] Akihiko Kaneda

Details of ROHM's new SiC MOS-FET are announced. The model number is SCTMU001F.
This time it is used for the last stage SCT 2080KE drive, SCTMU001F also has a Pmax of 132 W, Idmax 40 A and it seems to be usable for the final stage of the power amplifier. At a later date, there may be deployment such as the final stage of the battery drive amplifier.
In the meaning of model number, SC stands for silicon carbide, T stands for DMOS-FET, MU for music, 001 for serial number, F means package TO 220AB.

Two types of board diagrams of 2SK 214 and SCTMU001F drivers are posted so that they can be selected considering the availability of parts. Although it is a slight difference, it is nice to be assembled without thinking about extra things.

Although it is a trial record, 2SK 214 drive power IVC is the same tendency as power IVC built in the previous DAC, so it is only for SiC driver. "There is no room to calmly judge the sound, it will be drawn into the music, all the musical tones are beautiful, elegant and artistic." In addition, Mr. Ikuo Tsunoda's listening notes are posted.

Next month will be a hybrid SiC power IVC plan.

https://blogs.yahoo.co.jp/hsgwhz/folder/...l?m=lc&p=1
